Aerogram contributed to Montreal’s La Grande Terrasse Rouge (Montreal’s Big Red Terrace) street festival in a huge way, with our signature letter street banners.

The festival was funded by the City of Montreal. It was conceived to support merchants along St Denis street. Set up between Roy Street and Mont-Royal Avenue, this terrace is nearly one kilometre long. The terrace lined with chairs and hammocks set the stage for a host of activities, entertainment and free events in the neighborhood of Plateau Mont-Royal.

This important commercial boulevard will be undergoing major repair work in late 2015-2016 and the city came up with an imaginative way to help merchants mitigate the coming disruption to their businesses by creating a street festival. To encourage an onslaught of clienteles, the city installed a boardwalk to encourage pedestrian traffic despite the presence of construction crews and their equipment!

To help make the whole atmosphere more festive, the city has commissioned Aerogram to help create and mount colourful street banners with clever messages along St. Denis Street.

One of the main criteria was to have these street banners mounted on already existing street lamp posts that currently line the street. And these street banners needed to be wind resistance so not to damage the lamp posts.

So the use of traditional banners was out of the question due to their lack of wind resistance. Aerogram ingeniously came up with a unique concept of using 2 foot high characters when assembled together formed fun and welcoming messages to both car and foot traffic to the area.

Aerogram provided the city with pre-assembled letter banners that are strong, wind resistance and that can be easily installed on street lamp posts.

And what makes these letter banners even more special is the fact that these letters can later be re-arranged and re-deployed for future street festival/event, thus making them cost effective.

Aerogram was able to exceed the city of Montreal’s expectation and help make La Grande Terrasse Rouge a great success!

Winnipeg advertising campain operation

The population of Manitoba’s largest city knows very well the winter season
and how to beat it. They simply have to raise their eyes to read the message
written in the sky.

Indeed, an important snow removal services provider has chosen the specialty
firm of AEROGRAM – THE AERIAL MEDIA to conduct a major and spectacular
aerial advertising campaign. The solution proposed by WINNIPEGPLOW.CA is
inscribed on an Aerogramme 2000. This flying billboard, boasting an
advertising surface of more than 2000 sq.ft., criss-crossed the sky of the
Manitoban capital for a week reaching a huge number of consumers.

Thanks to AEROGRAM, the population simply raise their eyes to the sky… not
to worry about the next snow fall, but to look after at their health by reading the
AEROGRAM 2000 displaying the message :

A pilot hired by the Public Service Alliance of Canada to fly over Ottawa and Gatineau with a political banner was ordered to land his plane … Gian Piero Ciambella claims he was ordered to land his Piper Supercub after being in the air for about 90 minutes because two RCMP Officers were waiting at the Ottawa-Rockcliff airport to question him.

INFO PRESSE COMMUNICATION, September 1999, page 14.

AEROGRAM produced the tallest flying banner in the world, for Toyota’s Red Tag Sales campaign.

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, aerial advertiser AEROGRAM established a world record. For the Toyota’s Red Tag sale event, the company flew the tallest banner in the world (80ft). “This banner also set a Canadian record in for surface area”, says Jean-Pierre Ciambella, president of AEROGRAM. “The Red Tag banner was 4480 square feet in surface area, which places us in second place worldwide behind a 5000 square foot banner flown for Calvin Klein…

… In April and May Aerogram flew a banner over several regions of Québec including Montréal, Québec, Estrie, Montérégie, Mauricie, and Saguenay/Lac St-Jean. According to Jean-Philippe Tardif, group director for the communication agency Bleu Blanc Rouge the vast reach of Aerogram’s operation permitted us to solve certain visibility-related problems the overall campaign had been experiencing in the regions. For this campaign, Toyota and its agency wanted to create a memorable spring event for Québec drivers. “When we used aerial advertising,” said Mr. Tardif, “We wanted to give a spectacular boost to our campaign”…
